Microsoft releases rebranded Content Management Server
After buying NCompass Labs Inc. in April to acquire the company's NCompass Resolution 4.0 software, Microsoft Corp. announced the general availability of the re-branded NCompass Resolution, now called Microsoft Content Management Server 2001.
Content Management Server 2001 is a server application designed to help users create, manage, update and publish content on the Web. The software can also be used to automatically detect mobile or foreign-language browsers and adjust the content accordingly. Content Management Server 2001 is the latest in the .Net Enterprise Server series, Microsoft said. .Net is a wide-ranging Microsoft initiative that will be built around the Internet and information services.
More than 150 companies already use the software under the NCompass brand, and all will receive a free upgrade to Content Management Server 2001, Microsoft said.
Content Management Server 2001 Enterprise Edition costs $39,901 per processor.
