Nicholas Carr, whose 2003 industry-rousing Harvard Business Review article exclaiming that IT doesn't matter as a major source of enterprise competitive differentiation is back - this time with a challenge for enterprise executives to reexamine the role of internal IT organizations - and possibly dump them. And, while I was appalled at his last major article (I believe that IT can be used as a major differentiator in global markets - a point of view I articulated at that time) - I found myself in lock-step agreement with Mr. Carr this time.
